Back in Strength offers centrally located physiotherapy and exercise rehabilitation practices in the central location of Deakin.
We are a team of expert physiotherapists who have post graduate qualifications and experience – including Pilates training. We ensure all our patients receive quality care, including detailed assessment, careful and accurate treatment, as well as relevant education.
We will work hard to make your assessment detailed, your treatment accurate – with the aim to get you out of pain and keep you out of pain. Remember, we are all experienced physiotherapists offering expert care – you’re in safe hands
It is well documented that muscle recruitment and movement patterns change with ongoing or chronic pain. Thus, we endeavour to restore healthy movement again – requiring you to think about what muscle you are recruiting, and how you are moving. Sometimes we need to stop a muscle from being too active, others muscles need to contract more efficiently.
Once your body starts to learn HOW to recruit the correct muscles, we need to add movement, to make the rehabilitation last longer – into more complex movements, into sporting performances or simple tasks like mowing the lawn. So we need to MOVE correctly and efficiently.
Once we have addressed the former, IMPROVEMENT comes as a natural consequence.
Pilates/Physiotherapy based Exercise
We start with developing awareness and recruitment of specific core muscles, and progress to advanced exercises that result in a strong and stable body. We will observe you carefully to ensure you receive maximal benefit from your class and ensure your safety.
Our sessions are run in our Deakin studio and have individualised programmes and individualised attention. We use a range of equipment including; reformers, trapeze tables, wunda chairs and barrels. In addition we incorporate other Physio equipment, such as Core Align, redcord and slacklines. This allows us to make your program specific, challenging and varied.
Sports and General physio
Physiotherapists are health professionals, specialising in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of physical dysfunction. They are often referred to as “movement specialists”. At Back In Strength, our physiotherapists take that philosophy even further! All our physiotherapists in Deakin use their clinical experience to diagnose accurately and treat effectively, THEN we add the extra step – developing power and strength in your movement – to ensure a long term solution. That’s where the Back in Strength exercise rehabilitation comes in.
At Back in Strength, we will listen to your needs, help you understand what’s wrong and plan the most appropriate treatment for your condition.
At Back in Strength we have experienced and sensitive female physiotherapists who are passionate about caring for women’s health issues.

Over 20 years of research and clinical experience in Norway has made Redcord a leading concept for active treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and dysfunction. Its diversity and complexity allows it to provide the link between rehabilitation and performance.
